If a Dude gets a "Man Cave", what does a woman get? Welcome to my Babe Cave! My room is just what every gal needs--a place to craft, a place to chat, a place to watch a movie, a place to gossip...a place that celebrates HER and not the rest of the family! Welcome to The Ladies' Lounge! 18ft of counter space along the edge of the room works for computing or crafting. The island in the center serves as an eating area or cutting table or WHATEVER! A bar area in the corner of the room, keeps the wine chilling all night! A sweet little window seat is great for curling up with a book! I hope you like it. I am not a decorator or seamstress or carpenter, but I did everything in this room myself!!

As much as I hated the downstairs bath I needed more time to accrue the funds and do the renovation. But when a pipe burst and did significant damage to the bath and surrounding areas, my plans escalated. Headache that it was, I love the results. I hope you do too.
When I purchased the house the depicted area was an aluminum sunroom with windows surrounding three sides and two access doors, installed on a portion of my wraparound deck. It was a good idea gone bad.
The screens were long gone and the windows had failed. One of the two access doors had jammed never to open again. And, there was no privacy.
Hot summers and cold winters prevented use of the space as there was no heat or cooling. The tile floors were a magnet for strange stains and other unnamed things. Flies and bugs and some worms thought it was Heaven on Earth. Ugh!
Today, it has been completely rebuilt with real insulated walls and energy efficient windows. A privacy wall on one side provided space for an electric fireplace for fun and additional heat if needed.
A ceiling fan with a light replaced the chandelier that I kept hitting with my head. The wide pine floors now match the same in the main living area. Occasional seating and a large sheep skin rug completes the cozy space.
The now 7x10 sq feet all weather living space could be used for dining or just sitting. But, I use it as my escape office. No more looking at walls in the back bedroom!

The porch of my Victorian cottage was enclosed back in the 20s. I painted it white with a blue ceiling, refinished the hardwood floors, added a custom built daybed and lots of blue and white. The shelving holds my ironstone and aqua mason jars and bottles, and seagrass baskets are used for storage. A Dash and Albert outdoor rug withstands heavy traffic. The Starfish pillow is from local artist Willywaw. Vintage french grain sacks are used as pillow cases. Since the porch is south facing it gets great sun and warms up enough in winter so we can use it year round!
