Our 15x15 master bedroom with furniture dating back to 1985 and same white walls when the house was built in 1997.
The basement is about 20 ft. by 30 ft. It has been partitioned into 3 rooms using dry walls; but it is not finished. The ceiling is also not finished; I would like to put up a drop ceiling in the basement. I would also like to have a bathroom there.

When we moved into the house 19 years ago the basement was "finished", but awful. It was not a priority until it became so neglected and HORRIBLE that we didn't want to go down there for any reason. We decide to remodel it as much to clean it up as have new space and to do it as cheaply as possible (something I've never been good at).

The basement at my mother's house, once a fun TV room and functional work space, has become a play area for her four cats and a storage room for extra mismatched furniture. She really needs some advice on how best to set up a comfortable space for work, relaxation, and (cat's) play.
