The unfortunately pretty small master bathroom I recently created for one of our vacation rentals in Anaheim (therefore Minnie adorning the wall! I tried to incorporate the color scheme of the rest of the house (which all started with a kitchen backsplash tile... Since budget is always a big concern, I was thrilled when I found the silver tile, worthy of a rock star for $4/sqft. I went to countless tile stores to find a ÂÂmatchingÂÂ floor tile, only to choose the classic white octagon tile from Home Depot in the end. I love how the floor tile gives this otherwise modern bathroom a whimsical, vintage edge.

Inspiration at the very last minute..., I created this master for one of our vacation rentals in Anaheim and wanted to make sure that it's a real eye-catcher. I was under major time pressure and had NO inspiration whatsoever. Then I ran into a carpenter/artist at a local flea market who was selling oversized picture boards and I asked if he could create a headboard with a molding at the top that could accommodate recessed lighting. Since I had already chosen green as my theme color throughout the rest of the house and since I love horses, the graphic was an easy pick. I am very happy with the combination of the whimsical headboard and the contrasting black and white striped wall and hot pink as an accent color., Bedrooms Design

Master bathroom with vintage touch, This is a newly constructed master bathroom. I went with a vintage feel using hexagon tiles on shower floor and adding a claw foot tub. Dark beadboard cabinetry, glass knobs and carrara marble counters. I was inspired by a recent stay at Watch Hill's newly rebuilt Oceanhouse Hotel in Rhode Island.

SMALL BATHROOM SOLUTIONS, So you're renting, and the bathrooms aren't quite the same size as what you use to have? Lack of storage space? Lack of wall space? Just lack of space - period? Here's a few small changes I made to one of our now small bathrooms. In our FL townhome before, we had 2 and a 1/2 bathrooms, offering both space + storage. Now we've gone to two, probably equally the size of our master bathroom before. A small space transformation like this can be done in a day. It's simple enough for a rental, or even a home staging if you need to sell. If you're looking for a simple weekend project for your home, this would be a great project to do, plus maybe add stencil or stripes to the walls for extra wow.
