My better half decided to take on a re-grouting project in our shower. The tiles immediately started falling off the wall. She expanded the project to a full bath renovation. She did all of the work (except plumbing, granite and moving the TV including demo, new framing, drywall installation and mud, enclosing new steam/shower, Kerdi system, tile, light in shower, changed light fixtures, etc.

Beautiful job! I love the look, and would love to do a similar thing in my shower. I can imagine your surpise when she went in with a grout and scraper and came out with no tiles on the wall. It is something I would do...except I wouldn't know how to fix it! Kudos to her and to you!

Wine Cellar & Tasting Room, This is Phase II of our basement project. We built the wine cellar and constructed the wine racks from a kit. We designed the cellar around a mahogany wine buffet we found at Costco for $500. We built the exterior wall out of Castle Rock to resemble the cellar of an old building.

Several people have commented on the lighting which is very important to me. Photographs 10 & 11 are the only two I needed to use a flash. All overhead and sconce lighting use soft on/off dimmers with memory., Basements Design

Home Gym, This is the first phase of our basement remodel. This gym was designed so it could easily be converted to a bedroom if needed in the future or for resell.
Phase II - Wine cellar and tasting room will be completed in a couple of weeks.
Phase III - Bathroom, this will start in two weeks
Phase IV - pub bar and pool area
Phase V - home theater with fireplace

Yes, we actually use it. The hardest part about working out is getting started. I am not as good as she is getting into the gym. I have found if I force myself to "work out for 5 minutes" it is easy to stretch it into 30 minutes or more., Basements Design

Master bathroom with vintage touch, This is a newly constructed master bathroom. I went with a vintage feel using hexagon tiles on shower floor and adding a claw foot tub. Dark beadboard cabinetry, glass knobs and carrara marble counters. I was inspired by a recent stay at Watch Hill's newly rebuilt Oceanhouse Hotel in Rhode Island.

SMALL BATHROOM SOLUTIONS, So you're renting, and the bathrooms aren't quite the same size as what you use to have? Lack of storage space? Lack of wall space? Just lack of space - period? Here's a few small changes I made to one of our now small bathrooms. In our FL townhome before, we had 2 and a 1/2 bathrooms, offering both space + storage. Now we've gone to two, probably equally the size of our master bathroom before. A small space transformation like this can be done in a day. It's simple enough for a rental, or even a home staging if you need to sell. If you're looking for a simple weekend project for your home, this would be a great project to do, plus maybe add stencil or stripes to the walls for extra wow.
