Are you into doing your own work, or...? If you hate pink, get rid of the tile - particularly since some tile is missing. It's not hard to remove tile..I took our screaming YELLOW tile (that I hated with a hammer & screw driver. If the wall behind is in good shape, great...if not, wall board - made for "wet areas". Is the cabinet solid, usable? If it's good, I'd suggest paint it & use good paint, new sink w/nice fixture & Knobs...if not, replace w/1 that's simple style - but don't go "cheap", they don't hold up . I found a nice one on line, came with a sink...put a nice br nickel faucet...looks great. One suggestion for everyone is DRAWERS. As we age, it's hard to bend over and dig... If mirrors are intact, use some nice molding and frame them out like a fine art. If the tub is solid, resurfacing is cheaper than new, if not tear out and build a nice shower. Replace toilet w/watersaver/chair height. Just takes time. Size? Exhaust Fan w/vent! Door needs to go&dark molding, white..

I say get rid of the wallpaper, but embrace that cute pink tile. You could go with a subtle pink/gray/white theme, or you could even go all out with a Hello Kitty! theme. With the first suggestion, I'd paint the walls and cabinet a soft dove gray. That would make the white counter top, toilet and tub really stand out. Then you'd just have to patch that ceiling, replace the flooring (probably - didn't see it, and purchase new nickel faucet fixtures. Don't replace the mirror, just hang a decorative silver frame in front of it.

our main bath was pink down to the tub and toilet. we replaced the toilet but had the tub and all tile including the tile counter vanity reglazed.. we have a good size room it it cost us 1000.00. A friend of mine attached bead board over the tiles and replaced her tile vanity with an insert. the bead board looked really nice and it was way cheaper than reglazing..

Embrace the retro! Keep the pink and the funky wallpaper, fix the rest. Remember, whatever you do today will be outdated in a few years; why not embrace the era in which the house was built? I am doing that with my awesome 80's house in some areas. My daughter has an all blue "retro" bathroom--blue tub, blue toilet, blue patterned linoleum, blue and white cultured marble counter top, and she didn't want me to change a thing so I got lots of matching accessories, painted and scrubbed, and it's a cool retro bathroom.

I would like a tiled walk-in shower with most of the bathroom tiled also, and a modern bathroom sink.

I don't see much that's salvageable in this space. It's a teardown - time to get going! What style and finishes are you going for?
