That is a good idea, but I do need more storage, and I'd like to get a different mirror. Maybe I should get a smaller vanity, center it, and put storage on either side. I also want to get rid of the wood towel racks and buy metal hooks.

Agree with centering the vanity & mirror. You could replace the top with a custom cut one to fill the whole space and just put in oak end pieces & toe kicks to fill the gap at each end. That gives you an opportunity to change the vanity color if you want. Consider the new product from rustoleumtransformations.com to refinish your oak in a green, for contrast with the oak trim & towel bars. You could hang the small bar above the sink for fingertip towels. See if you can fit a plastic sleeve over wood bar surfaces or seal them with multiple coats of poly so wet items won't ruin them.

Looks good.. Why not center the vanity and mirror, you will still have plenty of room for the towel rack.?
