Girl's bedroom redo. Played off of colors in painting, using existing Marimekko sheets fashioned into accent pillows to create pops of color,adding Crate and Barrel patent leather look dotted pillows and a black and white cowhide throw rug for playful accents. Indoor/outdoor window treatments with grommets are bordered in Marimekko fabric to complete the look.

Loft Living: Design-on-a-dime project: Under $600, This was a short term rental design project. With a lot of creativity,, managed to furnish the living area for under $600. Two red microfiber sofas:(left behind by previous renters), three acrylic and glass tables: $100 (Craigslist) acrylic lamp on side table: $25 (Progressive lighting with Groupon coupon) Ballard Designs Ikat tufted chair: $125 (purchased at outlet center for $50 because of damaged leg, paid $75 for leg repair) Thomasville ottoman:$125 (purchased on Craigslist for $25. Badly stained. Had recovered in Irish linen remnant fabric for $100) 2 Ikea floor lamps:$30, pillow and table accessories: $60 (Goodwill, Pier 1, World Market, Total: $590. GUEST ROOM READY, After Hurricane Sandy in 2012, I made a major purge of closets and storage areas around here I made donations to local thrift establishments and sent donations to New Jersey Sandy Survivors. With the spaces being cleared, it made it easier to get the house holiday & guest ready. Using items I already had plus some pieces I had collected from thrift, I was able to convert the last room in our rental home into a guest space for under $450. Mixing in wood pieces and collected baskets added texture plus helped warm the otherwise grey + black + white space. I created another gallery wall with photos I captured in Florida & framed - a nice little escape for us here in AZ. Because most pieces were already on hand - minus the sleep sofa - I was able to get this space done in a day. What helped a lot was the existing neutral foundation of gray walls and the beige carpet.
