Thanks for the comments. I think if you check out my other rooms you will see that I am into some color juxtaposition. I like to have color coordination - to a point. But I also like some unexpected twists :-. The other window covering do take a back seat to the large window panel/shade, that is the case in most of the house. There is a prominent shade like that in my formal living room, dining room (shown here on Rate My Space if you want to check it out and in the master bedroom. But the rest of the window shades are high quality (Hunter-Douglas but more demure and tend to be colored to blend in with the walls. In this photo, it might have been a really sunny day because the shades on the aubergine wall behind the bed are actually purplish though they look whiter in the photo. No need to apologize for your critique. I welcome all opinions and comments. Cheers!

There is a lot to like about this room. The furniture is gorgeous, the layout is functional and comfortable, and I'll take purple any where, any time. When I think about what neutrals to pair with purple shades, I think about whites, blacks, and/or grays. Brown/beige isn't something I see very often with purple. This is an attractive room, no doubt. However, the purple and brown together don't work for me. The drapes, furniture and rug are gorgeous together and the walls, bedding, and art are gorgeous together. I wish you'd have chosen one or the other and not mixed the two. The drapes, which I would normally love, just seem out of place because they don't coordinate with the bedding. Also, it seems strange that only the one window is heavily covered, while the others are virtually forgotten. I almost feel the need to aplogize for my critique. It's a very well done room, just not MY ideal.
