for the record,. this is an "informal" guest room. Yes, people do stay, but for the most part, this is extra clothing storage for me (hence the chest of drawers, and the vanity is mine.. it didnt match our master bedroom so i put it down here. it was in our bedroom at the apartment, before we had the new bedroom suit.. so it was meant to go in this room. this is why you will see things that arent typical for a guest room. keep that in mind thanks

And finally, de-personalize the room. Remove all the framed photos.

A guest room needs to be functional, first and foremost. That means a bed that, if larger than a twin, needs easy access on each side, and a bedside table or nightstand and lamp on each side, as well.

Can you place the bed in front of the window? The headboard you have doesn't work with the bedding you have on it. The bedding is great, by the way! I suggest you find an open metal headboard and put the bed in front of the window. The room doesn't need a chest of drawers or a vanity. It needs the things I've mentioned. And if you have room left over, add a chair. Guests don't need much storage space. As long as they have some space in the closet and a couple of empty nightstand drawers, that's perfect! If you want, you can put a couple stackable drawer units inside the closet.

The vanity, although darling, just isn't needed, and it looks very cluttered. Don't fill the window sill with stuff. Clear out. Let the room breathe! And give guests what they NEED.
