Please don't rate this room, this is the room we need to redecorate quickly as it is going to be rented out. We need some ideas please!

We rent this room to students. I often put the boys in this room but it needs to be suitable for girls too. It is north-facing, gets the sun in the morning but as the walls slope in, it can be quite a dark room so we need to choose lighter colours for most of the walls.

We only have a budget to reuse existing furniture, but it could be painted or whitewashed.

Should I go with a pine Mexican theme, we have a lot of decorative objects from Mexico and a pink and another blue duvet cover which could match a Mexican theme.

I have other bedding of various colours but as the colours are different, I am not sure it will go with a new theme, plus I don't want to buy more.

I generally like modern, crisp, chic decor these days (my rustic mexico pine was an old choice) but as we have a limited budget I am not sure what I can do. The students might prefer a Mexican theme but it needs to look chic and crisp too. I don't know how to handle the sloping wall either.

I would really appreciate you ideas :-) We are based in the counrtyside close to Paris, France.
