I love your room! If it were me, I would white wash the furniture (but that's just me and you need some above the bed in the center. With the two round mirrors on the side above the lamps (which look great, I would not use another round object in the middle. Maybe something landscape/rectangular???

Thank you all for your comments and suggestions. I guess I've been fighting the cottage look but I might as well go for it! The rest of my house is a nod to the 50's with danish modern and retro calif-asia (I live in a 1957 ranch. So I guess my bedroom will become a seaside cottage theme. Might as well, I'm a 1/2 mile from the beach. So I'm going to take some of your ideas and run with them. I'll post follow up pictures.

Try moving the armiore to the lft. as far as you can & then move the pole lamp over next to it, to the right. Have the shorter & taller chest swap places. The taller 1 on that other wall will then help to ballance the height of the armiore. An aqua lamp on the table between the 2 chairs. Add a dark teal colored throw to 1 chair & a teal pillow to 1 or bothe chairs. Move all 3 mirrors to hang on the wall space above where the chairs are. Seascape or nautical pics. to bring a bit of masculinity to the room. Don't paint any furniture. The fan is fine, as is.

Have you tried the armiore as far left on that wall space as possible to keep it rom obstructing the bathroom entryway? I realize it will then open in front of the closet, but better that, than the bathroom. Pole lamp could then sit to the rt. of the amoire, for ballance. Table lamp on the table between the 2 chairs w/all 3 white mirrors hanging in a triangle fashion above an aqua lamp. Have the shorter chest againtst the one wall swap places w/the taller chest now sitting in front of the window. This will help to balance the height of the armiore. Some sort of nautical or seascape pic. for above the bed & on other walls to add a bit of masculinity to this space. The pics. can have blues browns & whites in them, all they need is something close to the aqua color perhaps a touch of it in the sky of the pic. to make it work. I'm of the opinion that your fan & furniture are just fine the way they are. Don't paint any of the furniture. Add teal throw to 1 chair.

I agree with RealtorSandy about the curtains. A lighter color with a simple pattern would liven the room. Try allposters.com for some affordable black/white or multi color poster prints and framing.

Rustoleumtransformations.com may help you change the furniture color. Look at the indoor/outdoor rugs at homedecorators.com for a couple of big ones at good prices. Sell the flokati on craigslist. They have art too. Try the mirrors over the bed instead of where they are. Paint the lightswitch, after priming, so it matches the wall color. B&W photos should be in the sitting area to help with that big wall. Cover the chairs with drop cloth slipcovers. Try a chandy instead of the fan/light. It looks too contemporary for your furnishings.

I love the color and the bedding, but those drapes seem to clash with the wall color. I would suggest soft white drapes, add a large area rug under the bed to warm up the room, move those cute white mirrors to another wall so that you can hang artwork above the headboard and hang art above your chairs too Congrats for going out of your comfort zone because it's not easy to do.
