This is my master bedroom. We added this space to our existing home in 2007, but this is the second decoration of this space. The floors are natural Canadian maple. The green curtains were made by me, as was the silk bedskirt. The other bedding is by JCPenny, as is the bed. The armoire is an antique. Rug from Overstock.com.

Regarding the posts on the other photos of this room: We have in floor heat, so the floor is warm, but the wood is loud when my animals and kids run across the floor, so we have the rug down as a sound proofing measure. The french door curtains are indeed makeshift, I haven't been able to figure out what to do there, I think I'd like to make Roman Shades, but wanted something meanwhile...1 1/2 years later I still haven't gotten to it! I cannot raise the curtain rod, as the ceiling is vaulted and there is no room to raise it.

The single panels are used because I can't stand to have panels tucked behind furniture and the folds flattened and inaccessable. Another drape on each window would cause the panels to be stuck behind the armoire and the bed posts.

I like floral fabric, it is cheerful, cheerful is good in dreary North Pennsylvania, so no plain fabric for me! Thanks for the suggestion though.

The bedside tables do appear rather small...so I guess I need to go shopping!

The single panels make it seem that you ran out of fabric. Maybe you can repurpose them by using the floral fabric as a band along the top of a linen or other solid curtain and then using the same treatment on all your windows. Just a thought.

This is a lovely bedroom. The few suggestions I'd make are; 1 The nightstands seem small next to the big bed. I'd use the small dresser you have to the left of the bed as a nightstand on the right side of the bed, if that side has more room. I'd use the smallest nightstand as a side table for the kitty's chair. 2 I love your green curtains. I'd use the same fabric on the door's curtains and place them as high above the door as possible. It looks like there are about 6 inches of space before the gable starts. Perhaps you could extend the cream panels by using some extra green fabric on the bottom, or just add a green valance across the top. I'll stop trying to run your life now. Have a great day and enjoy your beautiful bedroom.
