you asked about the cuatom of stockings at Christmas,,this is a legend.no one really knows why..but here is what Wikipedia said.

St. Nicolaus was coming through a village and heard about a man who was very poor. He had no dowry for his 3 dsughters to get married. St. Nicolaus heard about it and snuck down the chimney at night to give the girls a gold coin each.

He could no figure out where to leave them..he saw the girls stockings hanging up and put the coins in there.

At first kids used their real stockings..but eventually fancy ones were made and sold.

I agree with others; take Goldie's opinion, because although I'm nowhere near a designer, she's said many of the things I would have said, ie about the positioning of the bed, tables and lamps. The wood of the furniture is beautiful; if there are side rails, I would do away with the dust ruffle. Thanks again for visiting!

I will give you a short explanation of the traditions connected with my collection for the Holidays..

The round little man in the red suit is Santa Claus..he is one symbol of Christmas in Europe, New World countries. c
Children believe they can ask him to bring presents. It is thought he was a real person in European history named St. Nicolaus who helped poor children.
The nativities are a representation of the story of the birth of Jesus...it is a Christian tradition. His Mother Mary and His earthly Father, Jospeh surround a little statue the baby. It is believed he could have been born in a stable because his parents could find no place to stay at an inn during their travels. It is believed that neigborhing shepherds heard of his birth from angels and came to worship Him. The three kingly figures are Wise Men from the East..maybe Babylon who had studied ancient scriprtures and came to find the babe who was to be a King and offer him gifts.
