Ok, I know budgeting so here are a few suggestions. Paint, at discount at places like Lowes and Home Depot and Walmart if you look at other peoples mistakes. They are marked down alot. Or just do one wall at a time. Start with the one behind the bed, then do the opposite one the next month or two. Or just have one wall done. Agree with window treatment. It would almost be best not to have any for a while then keep what is up there now. Invest in a rug. Comb the Thrift stores and consignment shops also garage sales or flea markets. Most important you need a design plan. I see a star so is it Texas, sports or starry nights.

Great tips from the others, especially about the long drapery panels and side tables. My issue is with layout. I almost never like a bed on an angle. It's sometimes okay in very spacious bedrooms, but I feel yours needs to be squared up on the large blank wall where the chest/armoire currently is. It just makes for a more symmetrical, balanced space and allows you to put artwork over the bed and make it the true focal point of the room, which it always should be.

It appears that you are going for a somewhat antique/vintage look. That can be easily achieved on a tight budget. I agree with Melrose that the valance must go, though. Perhaps you have a very large old white or cream-colored tablecloth? If not, look for one in a thrift shop. It can be used instead as a curtain for your window hung from ring hooks or the short end draped over the rod and then pinned to itself with vintage brooches, if you have some of those sitting in your jewelry box. I also agree that your side tables could be more substantial. Those can also be replaced from other people's throw-aways that have been repainted to match. Check your city's bulk trash pick-up schedule, then drive thru that area the evening before when folks are putting out the things they don't want for that pick-up day. You can get tables, chairs, or all kinds of items that can be recycled instead of those things going into the city landfill.

I love the bed and dresser....but the 2 little stands are just to small....but paint them and hang them on the walls for shelving. Also the little bench at the foot of the bed....put an old suitcase on top of it...fill it with books so it's sturdy and firm and you'll still be able to sit on it. Or just put a plant and a picture on top of the suitcase...Love the star too...YOU have a great start on this room.

The first thing I notice in this space is the window treatment. The outdated valance is not doing anything for you. I suggest changing to straight, floor length draperies in your preferred colors, hung from a rod attached above and to the sides of the window frame. When circumstances permit, look for something to replace those rather fragile looking night stands [including yard sales]. Your space would benefit from something larger and sturdier looking, and they need not match. I can't see the rest of the room, so this might not be practical, but could you move the bed out of the corner and keep it fully on that straight wall? Good luck.
