i have done this room mostly on a budget,,the furnitures are not expensive,except the mattresses :/.., trying to make it look as luxury as possible,,,unfortunately in finland rooms are very small,and our is a 69 square m, apartment,so its a challenge to furnish it..especially when you have limited storage space and you need a lot of furnitures but dont know where to place it in a room!our room have basibly space just for bed ,closeth,bed side tables..but not really for a commode,,so i was forced to put it against window,,which is not best for the esthetics but had no choise.The furniture where bought at one time,so I TOOK ALL set,though i wished I wouold have mixed them up a bit,but i got to be honestm,finland is not offering very much options,especially in fashion and furniture sector,and if you wanted something different,you would have ot order from abroad and cannot order furnitures,,and if in finland they are designer and extremely expensive,,so this is best I could do with little money..I hope one day to replace the commode with a golden painted one,or mirrored (this last one dont know if it would look good.Also a wall paper on wall behind bed is my plan,but me and husband are not good to do self made thing,,and would be expensive to pay someone to do it,,,hmm hard question..but a upholstered headboard is an option to make the bed look more interesting,,,thats also hardx to find,,the only web who sells them here,have price going from 400 to 600 euro per piece!!

Hi,,oh you come to Finland,,nice!!but actually im not a finn but italian,my hubby is!the wall with shelves is actually the only wall who looks better because we painted with special coarse paint,so it looks nice and the one behind the bed need some re touch up.The commode is not black my furniture are dark brown,,wenge,so almost black looking.I was planning to have wall paper for drama instead of paininti, (even i love it and it was a very expensive but on sale when i bought it and headboard to make drama,so is either wall papaer and headboard,or simple but i was thinking is wall was black instead the bedlining would pop up better,infact i looked at the picture of the room from where i bouth the bed throw and it had black wall...i dont meen to paint it black,but use black paneling instead perhaps just the bed wall so that is enphasize the colour of the lining...

I think this is a beautiful view. The very sheer and dramatic draperies were an excellent choice. I don't think you need wall paper behind the bed. There is enough drama there with the painting. The wall with the shelves and boxes could use something and wallpaper might be a good idea there. I think your black commode is perfect as is; you have more than enough gold in the room. Very good job. I will be in Helsinki next month on a cruise. Now I can say I know someone in Finland!

I must say that you did an excellent job w/keeping the room elegant w/your color choices and also BIG thumbs up in setting up the room in a manner where it does not appear small and cluttered. I am working on doing the same thing and I must say that I have a little more space to do it in than you do and I now know that it can be done!!! Again GREAT JOB! Ms. Mimi
