Great dining room makeover!! Nothing like living through a gut job, right? Thank you for your kind remarks on my kitchen! You give me confidence that all of that hard work was worth it!! I added new photos which show close ups of the Calcutta marble on the island and the Soapstone counter top on the perimeter that you asked me about. Just a quick note, the Calcutta marble has a lot more texture than others I have seen.
Helpful hint I got and passing it to you: if you can, go with a broker to the stone yards and pick out the marble slab yourself, otherwise, you may not get exactly what you want.

Thanks! The brown wall actually has part of the beam from the ceiling running down to the floor. We were going to wrap it the same as the ceiling. Our kitchen is an ongoing work in progress, Ill try to post some pics of living room which is on the other side of the dining room. :

PS: Just leave the one large candle on the base and use the others to bring that color to your shelves.

This is an amazing room. I suggest that you paint two "frames" the same color as your off white wall onto your brown wall at eye level. One on either side of the post. Then put your two pictures that are above the shelves in the middle of them. That will make them pop and look bigger than they are and unify that wall with the others. I would put the shelves at angles in the corners.
Then move your amazing candle holder from below the key and put it on the floor in front of the window, just a little to the right. The key would pop more if it were on one of the biege walls. You could do something fun with it , like mount it on a raw, rustic old white board, and then stencil a "key" phrase under it or on a matching piece of wood. I would love to see the rest of your house. Have fun!
