I wanted to create a casual but fun, modern meets traditional dining room with plenty of texture and character. We first added hardwood floors. The accent wall was done in Stucco for texture. Then I painted the whole room in tan color, then white washed the accent wall. Then came the fun but time consuming part of taping off the chevron pattern. Then I painted every other chevron stripe in solid cream. I will add close up pic later. The chandelier was just added to the room. The raw silk drapes add another means of texture and pattern. The dining room furniture is an old set from consignment store. It bought it 8 years ago for our old house. I need a much bigger table for this new DR, but its not in the budget yet. I was at least able to score these Great new DR chairs and had them re-upholstered in zebra pattern. The larger chairs made the table look bigger. I still need buffet lamps, but its coming along... We've had plenty of great Cajun dinners in here!
