This was originally a formal living room, but I felt the space was much better used as a dining room. We updated the fireplace which made all of the difference in the world!

Great idea! Love DR's with fireplaces. It's very conducive to sitting and chatting around the table with the fire going.

This house has two living areas and a dining. We never seemed to use the formal living. By making that area the dining I decided to use the smaller former dining as a library. It's cozy and a much better use of the space for us. Maybe I will post pics of it at some point. It's still a work in progress. :

This is lovely, and I like the way the neutral colors blend and then serve to warm up the room. Many homes have living rooms that would be more functional as dining rooms, and I am glad to see you have made that change.
