have you tried the mirror turned the other way. I think it would give the room some height.

I starded to do a golden brown and change my mind over a year. not bad still have the paint I like.

You have some great ideas. About the rug....we have two pugs that shed rather fiercly. I originally had a rug in this room (although it did look better I removed it because I was tired of cleaning it all of the time. I will try the silver. I also think I will paint the bottom black? About the paint color...it was difficult to paint. I will say that. When I originally trimmed the room I trimmed it with a brush and I couldn't get the brush strokes out of it. That's why I didn't paint it with a roller I handpainted "X's" all over the walls. Everyone who comes to the house loves the walls. If you have carpal tunnel like I do.........I would not recommend starting the project.....(smiles.

You have a lovely dramatic space. Ditto on replacing chandelier with silver/satin nickel one. Are shades purply? Black ones could be sharp. When budget allows a rug will help keep room from being too metallic/relective. Mirror is PERFECT. WOndering if the tole tray is too country for the room. Any chance you have a priceless sterling tray laying around the house??? How about an heirloom black Chinese screen for buffet top?? No? Well get on it!! teehee

What a pretty room! I love the shimmery bronze color you used! I have seen this at Lowes (my home away from home and wondered how it looked in a room versus on a paint chip. Is it pretty much fail proof? Love it!

Looks great! I'm a prof dec painter use RL and Ben Moore metallics all the time. New RL Metallics are denser no undercoat needed <----YESSS! I use a bigsoft Venetian brush and pounce out the paint to avoid brushmarks

Sure. I'm so happy that you asked about the color. It's a shimmering bronze from Lowes. It's a metallic paint color. You have to first paint a Base coat in a semi glass then go over it with the metallic. Thank you for your comments.
