Though the dining room is small it packs some big punch! I painted the room chocolate truffle and the molding vanilla ice cream. The crystal chandelier I inherited. (I had it rewired. I refurbished the chandelier with a lot of TLC and elbow grease. I made the runner. The "buffet" is actually a bookshelf on it's side with basket drawers. I added the tassels. My everyday plates, bowls, and coffee cups are within easy reach. The framed letter is one that was found when my father was in WWII written to my aunts. A definite treasure!

Kitchen/Dining Room Makeover, We have spent the majority of the past year updating and renovating our home. My husband, with the help of his father occasionally, has done all of the work himself. We have a combination kitchen and dining room; our updates focused on the dining room. We took out our bar to create more definition between rooms and replaced it with a wall, repainted, and changed the decor. small dining area..., As always,decorating my rental apt on a very small budget.....My kitchen lacked "storage" {we can't add/remove extend or do much to our kitchen} so.my hubby and I debated on whether to add a buffet table or built benches... We opted for benches because I figured if we added more furniture it would look/feel crowded and cluttered,.by adding the benches it allowed for much needed storage and seating

I'm thinking of replacing the DIY CLOCK with mirror and sconces or large wall art but for now clock stays until I find that "special" something...

P.S.My hubby built the benches,added wainscoting,chair rail,window casing and framed dining area opening with molding
