Your room is sooo totally opposite from my taste in design but I find it very charming and a place I would like to visit. Your room makes me feel like I am in a vintage shop in the country.

To look like a cottage all your decorative items would only be dinning dishes like your soup tureens. There's too much frou-frou and the effect is distracting rather than inviting. Clear away all the flowers, then bring in a live plant or two--they'd look just right on the stools--then do something warm and masculine, maybe a wood stain on the fireplace after you've swapped its position with the dish cabinet. Hang a swag curtain that complements the new wood stain on the fireplace. All the small items can be grouped together in neat interesting new shadow box or boxes to hang on the wall.

While your dining room is very pretty, it has too many flowers and too many tiny items for my taste. It is very difficult to see all of your decorative items because there are just too many of them and it ends up looking a little cluttered instead. I suggest removing the overflowing flowers from the tops of furniture (keep the flowers on the chandelier and center of your table and remove the tiny items cluttering up your decorative plates and soup tureens so you can actually see them for what they are. Place the water goblets on the place mats to complete the place settings.
