Open floor plan: living, dining, kitchen, but still distinct areas. Bay window has view to die for. Trying to re-create that comfort food feeling from childhood of going home again. The perfect place to curl up with a good book: a classic, of course!

What a difference a year can make! My house a year ago when I bought it and today. :) I fell in love with the house the first time I saw it, but knew it had amazing potential. Slowly that vision is unfolding.

This space is six feet wide and about twenty feet deep. There are Douglas Fir steps in the middle that lead down to the Master Bedroom and to an exterior door and two that lead to the main floor of our house. There also is a door to the garage. Many doors for a small space. It has a high ceiling that peaks over the stairs. The space was in poor condition when we bought the house, with scarred and poorly laid Saltillo tile near the front door and poorly laid carpet replacing that on the bottom where the house had settled and the tile had cracked. There were track lights near the peak that were installed at odd angles. But with all it's flaws it showed great potential for being a welcoming space.
