Jackie's comment below is a little garbled. I believe she meant to say that the curtains a bit too short. Perhaps you could add some solid black fabric to the bottom of each panel so that they reach the floor when closed. Then when they are pulled back, they will drape nicely to frame the window seat. A few more throw pillows would make the area look more inviting, too. However, I really love the cornice box and the curtain fabric you've chosen. Great job!

Relaxing retreat, My husband and I started out with a plain spec house white mantel with ceramic tile surround. He custom built the fireplace mantle with a venetian plaster finish which gives it a stone look. We completed the look with mosaic glass tiles. "Paris Chic" on a budget- Oh la la, Re-decorated my friends daughters room on a budget of $500. The only thing she supplied was the bed, everything else was coming out of the budget. I had to purchase: a dresser, 2 chairs, small table, bedding, decorative elements, paint & Supplies. I purchased 2 thrift store chairs for $8 each, that I painted and reupholstered to fit the theme. I also found a solid pine dresser on craigslist for $50 that I painted white and gave new hardware too. I hand painted the wooden letters that I got unpainted for $1.50 each (50% off) at Hobby Lobby. I also created 3 tulle pom poms in coordinating colors to create a whimsical feel ($10 each). The bedding I got off Walmart.com on clearance for $25 per bed-in-a-bag!!! I bought the mirror for $8, the lamp for $5, and the ceramic sculptures for $10, at a thrift store. All were given new life that added to the girly feel of the room. The rest of my decorative elements came from thrift stores and Hobby Lobby. The rest of my budget went to paint and supplies. All in all I think this room came out amazing considering the small budget I had to work with. The home owners were ecstatic, and in the end that is all that matters! :), Girls' Rooms Design

HELP! Paris the City of Love, HELP! Have hit a bit of designer's block and could use some suggestions to finish this room and have it look fabulous. This is my girls bedroom ages 9 and 12.
