My daughter is a princess loving, dress-only wearing, pinked out 5-year-old girl. The teenage girl that lived in the room prior to my daughter rode horses, competed in rodeos, and loved the rustic look. It was an adorable room if horses and rodeos are your thing, but my daughter isn't that type of girl. The room was made to look like a barn. Tin and wood from the girl's grandparent's old barn hung on the walls and windows. They had even removed the carpet in the room to reveal the concrete slab to give it more of a rustic look. So, we went in, ripped everything off the walls, put up a chair rail, laid laminate flooring, and painted the walls pink. Not Pepto Bismol pink, but a light pink. And, now, it looks more like my daughter. Plus, I purchased a $40 old wood desk off of facebook and gave it a makeover too.

This bedroom was made for a 14 year old surfer. The furniture was refurbished, the bed cover was made with two Hawaiian sarongs and the curtain from a table skirt and flip flop lights. Also on the dresser mirror there are LED "flower" lights.

When my daughter was 3 years old she requested a big girl room with pink, black, rock & roll and unicorns. It took four years of scrimping, saving and lots of elbow grease. Please tell us what you think of the design that she dreamed up and her Dad and I did our best to give her. Thank you!
