Since you already have a large, colored area in the brick, I would suggest a white door with panels. You can paint the recessed edges around the panels black to match the shutters. With the contrasting colors in the door and panels, you will have some pattern in your color scheme instead of a plain-colored door that will not stand out enough.

Thank you so much for all the advice. With the two white garage doors I have I do have a great deal of white going on. I am really having a hard time matching with the brick. It’s somewhat pinkish with a slight tint of orange. We did a red door for a while but it just didn't feel right. The posts are smallish and we now do have some wood pieces built up around the bottoms, this picture is about a week before that happened. I guess we are just lost on what to paint the shutters, front door, and even garage doors. Not huge fan of blue, and we really like color. I am going to try and transplant, if possible, the large holly in the middle to the corner near the two car garage, if not I think its going to come down. Keep the ideas coming folks, we really appreciate it.

You have a nice brick house. While yellow and black normally go together in this case it doesn't seem to work. Red, blue or greens, look at color wheel for opposites. nice rich beige/khaki? Remember brick is a color so compliment. Paint the garage door to mute with a color as close to the brick as you can. It works but a white door stands out and distracts from where you want the focus to be. Can't see the porch columns very well but they look small and very plain. Maybe add wood trim to accent or build brick bases part way up to add detail. Paint the beige or khaki. The other big impact is the landscaping! Whack the overgrown bush between the windows, plant a tall full holly at the right hand corner of the house will help hide side of garage. Plant nice small/medium size scrubs in front of porch to hide paved wall with another variety taller one between garage and porch not to thick or heavy. Do variety of plant color and texture and put some flowers in.

We will stay with a great deal of evergreens because we love how they are nice year long. Perhaps a Japanese red maple, but thats about it. We are REALLY lost of color.

Do you have any plans for landscaping with colored plants or trees, etc.? That might help in making your decision, or be an alternate way to add color outdoors.
