My dream kitchen came to reality!, I've wanted to remodel a kitchen in our house for a while...and finally it happened! Our kitchen is long, but not deep and it is open into family room. I wanted the design of the kitchen to integrate with the overall color theme used throughout the house...i.e.warm hues of brown, orange, beige...
* Kitchen cabinets are from IKEA - Adel Medium Brown
* Countertops are CaesarStone in Sierra
* Backspash is glass mosaic tile
* Floor is porcelan ceramic tile by Dolce Vita in Ivory
* Window panels are made by Blinds To Go

All appliances are Bosch. Overall design of the kitchen is mine, implemented by my very handy husband:). Thank you to everyone who wants to provide feedback!, Kitchens Design
Modern and Organized Office/Crafts Room!, It took me three months to design my crafts room and office. I looked for versatile storage, that was neat and organized and easily accessible. I wanted the paint to be bold and vibrant, but not annoying. I also created various areas in the room for certain crafts like; scrapbooking, gift wrapping, painting, sewing, and bow making. I love this room and spend hours everyday creating! , Home Offices Design

If the link doesn't work and it says link doesn't exist on the blog, IT DOES EXIST. Just copy and paste it into the browser and it will work. I don't know why that happens sometimes. (The link adds a

at the end of the webaddress, you can also just delete that and it'll take you to the tutorial)

I finally purchased a new couch and I love it. The couch is the Claudia Sofa from Macy's.
Now I'm still on the hunt for a new coffee table. I'm kind of getting sick of my ottoman which I had only bought because my kids were toddlers and I didn't want them to get hurt on hard edges and corners.
For the coffee table I think I will go with a gold Hollywood Regency table or a modern chrome and marble top table. Lets see what I can find in an affordable option.
A lot of people always ask me why I have light colored flooring even though that the trend is to go really dark. The reason is dust and dirt! Most of my friends that have dark floors go crazy trying to keep their dark hardwood floors looking clean. I don't, because you can't see the dust and cat hair from 4 cats as much. That is also the reason why I have a traditional persian style area rug. I actually would much rather have a graphic patterned rug but they are hard to keep clean again. I've tried other rugs before. The pattern of my rug is forgiving!
That is the reason why I have the ikea pillows. They are easy to wash and keep clean. And if one is ruined, they are cheap and easy to replace.
I guess I'd rather compromise with my large busy family. Two kids and four cats do make a lot of dirt but my house mostly looks clean! , Living Rooms Design
