It's an apartment. A Los Angeles Landlord is a hands off, mickey mouse repairman fix it type. They sent an electrician that wanted to put a outdoor outlet cover box over the plug instead of inset the plug into the kitchen wall. This is my FIRST remodel, took out cabinet, brought in electrician, moved fridge - went to Ikea, Home Depot and Lowes. Bought Pine shelving, cut down butcher block, reused pieces to create flow. Stained, painted, built from scratch. Design was in the head, done as I went. My wife was skeptical, but after a month and a half, we now have a comfortable kitchen. New prep areas, more storage, more shelving and a happy wife. For now.
