blue is easy to change! Start with walls, and choose you color, prime and paint. Now choose cabinet color, Does Not have to be WHITE! Use you own sense of color and what will make you happy. I would take down the small shelves and cut that scalloped header straight across. Add new hardware. Counter tops can be bought at any Big box store and installed. i can't tell what is going on behind the fridge, wallpaper? Window, door? laminate flooring is inexpensive and can be done last. The very first thing I would do is paint the cabinets white, as well as the window frame. If you can, cut the scalloped wood piece out above the sink. Without seeing the entire kitchen, it's a little difficult to give more exact recommendations. After you do that, update countertops,(and no, they don't have to be granite faucet, lighting and change out cabinet hardware. You can make this look a lot better without spending a fortune! My first ? is; Do you have help? lol Next, start a list of what you like, want, love. Have a notebook to put your notes, photos, etc. in. Doesn't matter whether it's out of reach or in your budget, this will help in color choice, fixtures, finishes, etc. Most choices will be based on your style; traditional, contemporary, modern, etc. Tile, wood or concrete floors; granite, soapstone or laminate counters; natural, stained or painted cabinets. I can't wait to see the finished product. I'm sure it will be fantastic!

Yes I am looking for ideas. You are right anything is better than what is there now. I am going to prime the walls after I sand them down a little bit and maybe do a lighter tone paint to brighten this space up also make it look bigger than it is. For the counters and cupboards I have no idea. I am new to the remodeling and would love any tips ideas that anyone has. No I am not looking nor have I asked for a FREE makeover. Its a DIY projects that yes will take time, but will look great once it's done.

While you're waiting for a free makeover that will never happen, you can do some things on your own. First, clear everything out of the kitchen. Toss the trash and reorganize what's left. That always helps. Then, paint is not expensive. Sand and prime the cabinets and window frames. Then paint them white or off white, to lighten up the kitchen. Then paint the walls. Good luck.
