The kitchen in our Florida vacation home is a work in progress. It is very small so the challenge is to use the space efficiently, especially since we typically have visiting friends and family here. We love hosting happy hours so we've adopted a wine theme. The rather tall sliding door which opens to a small porch and faces the pond makes the kitchen appear slightly larger than it actually is. We plan to install countertop on the half-wall behind the sink. That, along with two small stools and some small pendant lights will create a breakfast bar and in the dining area and allow a few more people a place to eat or drink. In addition, a small pub table on the tiled area of the kitchen may also be in the plan.
