Our 1950's kitchen entry was old and tight. We tore out a wall, refinished the all wood cabinets, redesigned them into a much needed peninsula. These things changed the entire first floor of the house. This remodel lightened up both the kitchen and living room, gave us an excuse to redo the flooring and have fun redecorating!!
Most of the "grunt" work (demolition, drywall hanging, mudding, sanding, painting, cabinet refinishing, reinstallation, etc. was done by the lady of the house. But it is never a bad thing to learn new skills! Only the electrical, plumbing and gas lines reworking was done by the man of the house. To say I'm proud is to understate it!!
