The old kitchen was a 'U' shape on the right side with a built in booth to the left of the peninsula. We removed all of the retro metal cabinets, took out the booth, and knocked out the peninsula walls to open up the space. Refinished the walls and ceiling, added porcelin tile floors, and installed cherry wood cabinets with simple gray/black/brown granite countertops. Also added pot lights and new lighting fixtures over the island and eat in kitchen areas. Took the super outdated, closed-in space and gave it new, brighter life!
