Bought the house as foreclosure knowing it was smoked in. Kilz on EVERYTHING and now its the cabinets turn. I've done my research, no other way to cover the smell and sticky tar then to Kilz it. My question....stick with white? I have NO budget...only paint. If white cabinets then what on walls and ceiling?

Yes I used TSP on some parts and some organic orange cleaner on the rest....it was HORRIBLE! I can't begin to explain the yuckiness! I am scarred only one coat of primer will cover, they also had a ton of grease as well. More painting to do today, this is going to be a long process (especially since I have 3 kiddos under 4 but well worth the time!

Forgot to ask if you've checked out the new product at rustoleumtransformations.com. Lots of people on this site are getting great results with it on cabinets and other items.
I like sage greens with pops of fall leaf colors to accent.

Hope you washed all of it first! That makes it last. I own a home that was smoked in foryears. The yellow nicotine ran in sheets down the walls as we washed. Then we used Kilz. Highly suggest washing first!
