Thanks @ potchie, believe me I've already completed a clean sweep and I've eliminated so much it just a small space all of my cleaning supplies, pots, pans and food is stored in the kitchen as this home has no storage area. No pantry, no linen closets. The idea of painting sounds a little time consuming, Also the cabinet is not completely wood there's a veneer of some sort on the cabinets so painting probably wouldn't work. Thanks so much for taking the time to giving me some tips:

@ nojokeve Thanks for the advice. I don't want to invest much money. I put cookware on top before but only made the space looked more clutter because your eyes just went straight up to see the pots. I like the idea about buying see through cabinets. I will look to see if I can purchase some inexpensive ones.

How much time/$$$ are you willing to invest? The cabinetry is a bit dated. I used to rent a home with similar cabinetry. I'm not suggesting to rip out cabinets, however, you could change the doors to the ones you can see through. That always makes tiny kitchens look bigger.

Also, Is there space above the cabinets? (Looks like there is You could put some of the "seldom" used cookware/applicances up there. The space above the cabinets straight ahead in the first picture should be reserved for something more "decorative" such as a pretty display plate and two coordinating vases on either side.

not much you can do to expand the space without construction....so i'd ask the landlord about painting the cabinetry. simply painting the bases and doors to one shade of white will make the space look larger and more open, not to mention updated. then add some stylish handles. then, do a 'clean sweep' to create more storage within the cabinets...we all have stuff we can live without...sell, donate or gift what you don't need, to make space for what's essential. then be creative with other storage elsewhere....for example i have an antique cabinet in my LR and a "linen closet" from my guest bathroom room that are filled to the brim with the extra stuff i can't fit into my kitchen! you could even paint the countertops to look like granite. ;] keep us posted.
