What started as a dark and dreary spec kitchen, transforms in to a bright and inviting space with tons of character! Work in progress photos on my blog, the Stiers Aesthetic.
My house was built in 1950. The kitchen is 'L" shape - 8x11; 2 walls separating the kitchen from the living room and dining area. In 1999 (date of purchase) I upgraded the kitchen appliances, installed a ceramic floor and tiled the counters. This was "old school". Space was not ugly but outdated.
Thanks to DYI ideas (TV shows) my reno included a total strip down to bare studs. I now have new electrical, plumbing, ceiling, wood floors, half walls, breakfast bar, new stainless steel appliances, kitchen cabs, granite counters. I am almost finished. Follow my photos. All thanks to my carpenter-Nelson.

My husband bought a 1984 ranch style home 6 years before we married. The kitchen was out-dated and he filled it full of boxes and papers and stored a college refrigerator there. It was literally a storage room kitchen for years. Now I love, love, love it!
