Our family room is literally wide-open to the kitchen (space just uploaded. In order to emphasize this fact, I figured I would tie-in the color-scheme for both the kitchen & family room spaces (hence, "GREAT ROOM". I love our huge shag rug. So, that has dictated every other object in the room. I should note that (a the space is NEVER finished and always changing and (b that the budget is teensy-weensy. I LOVE color. I am beginning to fall madly in-love with antiques & vintage too. : I would definitely say this room is eclectic. Also, while the 'coffee table' is not chic at all (it's a college dorm storage ottoman from Meijer for around $20, it works presently because I have a 2-yr old and I am the type of person who doesn't want my house screaming "A KID LIVES HERE". You wouldn't know unless you went upstairs to his very tidy Dr. Seuss bedroom. : I have hidden storage stashed in the tv console as well. :
