Beautiful bold room Love it I agree with another window treatment in a pattern somewhat like your patterned pillows

I agree with the others--bring the artwork down. Also, I would really love to see the "pop" of another, unexpected color. It wouldn't need a lot, just a "pop" here and there because the red is so bold. If you could find--or make--patterened panels that contain both the red and an accent color, it would help tie it all together. I might be going out on a limb here, but I keep seeing touches of ice blue in my mind: maybe a transparent, ice-blue glass vase (to catch the sun, a hint of ice blue in a shimmery-type fabric on the sofa (an oblong throw pillow to fill in the space between the others and a throw tossed casually over the chaise part of the couch, maybe some art books scattered around...It's a lovely, bold, very welcoming room, and I can see why you enjoy it so!

I am loving this room and I love your sofa! I agree with the others about the need for much larger artwork hung lower. I know the piece BarbaraBee is talking about and she's right, it would be perfect. Also agree about only needing floor to ceiling drapery panels w/no valance {most valances are dated looking and I'm sorry to say this is one of them}. I think it would add pizazz if they were patterned in a contemporary fabric as suggested. Check Penneys online. They should also be lined and heavier than these to hold weight against the other chunky, heavy, bold pieces in the room. Finally, I would move the end table {love the new tables, btw} to create a connection between it and the sofa. Makes most sense to left of sofa but if there's already one there we can't see, just move it closer to right edge of sofa. Right now it's floating and not making sense in the space. Very nice job you're doing!

Yes, to the art suggestions and lower art to 10" above the sofa back. A pop of black here & there will wow your room! Have have this canvas professionally matted & framed in black wood or to match table bases. Check for an area rug at homedecorators.com to use in cooler seasons. Pull the sofa out of the corner a bit - about 6" from the wall behind and the corner. Will make the area seem more spacious and won't crowd window treatment. I think the drapes need to be patterned - like the current pillows or even the other ones in photo two. These look a bit "dowdy" and I know that is not the look you're going for. Just panels and maybe some white matchstick blinds - no valances. It will be stunning when you finish!

It is a pretty room and I love the red and white...but the art is too small for that wall and hung too high. I also has no impact. You could use a much larger piece of canvas art and since that's an IKEA bowl on the table, you should find something there. I can visualize one they carry which is a foggy scene of the rope bridge. It's all gray, white and black and would really make a statement in this room. Or even a colorful one with red in it would be much better than what you have.

Your art is floating away.....mount it a little lower and centered on the sofa and I think you'll like the look better. This is a bold room - enjoy it!
