Rental, had all country style furniture but with few $$$ was able to transform the space into an Asian Inspiered living area.

Is there a place to move white chair to? I would then get a square end table and move loveseat over to make a grouping. It would be more pulled together

all the red around the room as an accent isnt working..add another color or 2.

How very clever & inventive. I think is great job. But, space seems hollow, even with red. Can you add some larger area rugs? Pull furniture onto rug? Add rug in DR? Tile floors make room feel cold with warm color contrasts. Great finds at consignment shops, flea markets - Pier One Outlet stores? Design Mart closeouts? Room seems to be floating with all heavy color at top. Floor too light to anchor furniture. Then would add one fabulous color - like a rich jade pillow, or vase somewhere. Red not a restful color - needs some balance between the yellow tones of wall, sofas and the reds. Let us know?

I went for it: Painted the fireplace surround black, This living room is longer than it is wide and I've tried every configuration possible. Finally, I decided to paint the fireplace black (it was white, as you can see in before photo) to make it stand out more. Bricks and more bricks..., This is our main living space. It is a small space, but cozy :) The main problem is the fireplace takes up so much room it seems to make the room seem even smaller.
