You have a beautiful space with hard wood floors and crown molding! I would add some warm colors and textures. I would paint it a warm sand color and add flowing red drapes. And maybe an area rug with warm reds and browns, and statement making wall decor. And don't be afraid to move your furniture around into the middle of the room to create your own sitting spaces. It's a beautiful room- good luck!

This is a lovely space, even though unusual. My first impulse would be to swap the office armoire with the TV. I think the space would work more comfortably and efficiently that way. Second, I would look around [Overstock.com & other sites] for a very large area rug, with personality, that you absolutely love. [Don't waste money on something you don't love.] Using color[s] from the rug, choose window dressing, whether roman shades, bamboo shades and/or floor length drapery panels to finish off your space. If you don't want to use a rug for color inspiration, try a large piece of art that you love over the sofa [not too high] for inspiration. Good luck and repost when you're ready.
