Thanks for the comment! I'll keep the lighting in mind when we have more money to spend on the space. I appreciate the suggestions for the cords--it's one of those details that is easy to overlook, but can really make a difference.

I left you a comment this morning, but it didn't post. I think you have done a great job with color, which has added interest and personality to this room. I would suggesting a couple lamps to add "ambience". Also, the room would look more finished if you would hide the tv cords by taping them to the back of the credenza or connecting them so that they are out of sight. Enjoy!

Your use of color has really added cheer and interest to the space. Good job! I have two suggestions. One would be to add at least one, possibly two lamps. You will love the atmosphere that the soft lighting gives with or without the overhead lighting. Also, you would have a more finished look if you would hide the wires to the tv, by either taping them to the back of the credenza or clipping them together so that they do not drape down that low.
