@3sweetgrits The sofa is great! We got it at Raymour & Flanigan and it's a Cindy Crawford sofa.

You should try larger but fewer accessories. Larger accessories would make a bigger statement.

I agree that the sectional would be best facing the fireplace. It makes tv watching much more enjoyable too. My l.r. is set up alot like yours.

will the sofa fit if it's placed to float and face the focal wall? remember...you only need 3 feet to make a clear pathway on the window side...try it out! regardless, this is a great space. look for 4 straight curtain panels that are non-tab topped, non-sheer and a bit longer in either an accent color, a textured fabric, or a fab pattern. then add some toss pillows to coordinate with [not necessarily match] the panels. the ladder shelves NEED solid items. on lowest shelves use structured baskets and tailored looking fabric and/or leather bound storage bins and on other shelves add lots of books [stack some library style, others one atop another for texture] blending in a few accessories and identically frames photos and lose the mantle decorative items...they are distracting and nonessential. could also use a floor lamp on near side of sofa and a small table and lamp for the chair. keep us posted! ;]

I like everything in the room. Since you feel that the window appears empty and idea that you would do is to get longer curtains or sew some fabric to the bottom of it so that it comes down to the ground. Use a tie to tie in the middle of each panel.

I would add some colored curtains that would complement the couch and keep the existing ones as sheers. Also, the pictures over the couch are too far apart. I would either hang them closer together - maybe 6" to 8" apart - or replaced them with one large piece.
