Our living/dining room has to do it all for us. We love to entertain and have large families to boot. The dining table breaks down to seat 4 but opens up to seat 14. The room had a great layout and lots of natural light. We added a widow seat over the radiator to add function as well as style. The chairs in the living room swing around and are used with the table when needed.

Living Room, In my 1930's home, I've tried hard to integrate my modern taste with some of the traditional elements, such as the moldings and archways. In my living room, I used a sort of greige-ish hue to accent my red couch and chair. My coffee table is from my grandmother's farmhouse - freshened up with a coat of glossy black paint on the base.
