Welcome to our home in Okinawa, Japan. My husband is an active duty Marine and I work for the Navy as an ER nurse here on this beautiful island. We live in a small, but comfortable, base house. I do the best I can, though please remember, we are not allowed to paint the walls, hang too many things, change lighting fixtures, or much else for that matter. We never know what type of space, or sizes the rooms will be, until we move into our homes in the military. The ambiance must be created through furniture and decor alone. We decided to piece things together as we have gone through our marriage and travels.

I have tried to make a peaceful living room using light blues, chocolate browns, creams and greys. I have displayed items from around the world that we have gotten, including Japan, England, France, Bali, Thailand, China, Ireland and back in the good ol' USA! I have also tried to tie the room together by using similar structures and decor pieces. I wanted the room to be a representation of us, who we are, what we like, and our times together. I feel that's exactly what a living room should be. I hope you enjoy what I have attempted to create given the many limitations to living in military housing. Thanks for taking the time to look!
