I love this room. And I especially love your golden drapes. Excellent choice. Agree about raising the door rod. Very cozy and comfortable space.

thanks Blondepegasus, good point with the rod/drapes on the french doors. Not sure why I didn't realize that when I hung them, maybe thought the large space between top of door casing and rod would look weird? But now seeing it from a distance it should be on the same plane as window rod. The mantel should have been stained, yes. I was so used to seeing it in the raw that I was debating back and forth and ended up not doing anything!

Thanks potchie! Totally agree on all you mentioned. The fireplace ended up taking a good chunk of space in that room and we had the (new couch already to work with as well as those 2 chairs! I tried to play with larger table/ottoman but it was tight against the hearth. 2 loveseat types would have been better and yes it was a bit unfinished. House since sold shortly after we did the work but was fun renovating while it lasted.

wow, that FP is a stunner! gorgeous. the room feels alittle unfinished though...would you consider applying a stain or tinted wax to the mantle to help it feel less 'brand new' against the fab rich stonework? also i think either the wall color or the curtain color could change...for me, they aren't working together...try neutral walls and use the blue as an accent color. the coffee table is so dwarfed in here....BIG FP, BIG sofa, BIG windows, tiny table.....you might consider an ottoman or eliminating it completely and add to the chairs under the window. they feel lost. soooo much potential in here, just needs a few finishing touches! Love it!
