Also, you can't see it very well in the picture but the stone below the fireplace goes wall to wall. That makes it a little tricky putting furniture there. It is very uneven.

Thank you for all the great ideas. I agree that there is too much brown and needs a little color. The curtains have light blue and green in them so I will try to pull those colors into the room. They are the Simone drapes from PB. This picture was taken at night so they look much darker than they really are. I would love to add cream but its probably not a great idea with a 1 and 4 year old! Lol. I did have a cow rug on top of the carpet but it stayed wrinkled and we were constantly tripping on it. When I get it updated I will repost,, Thank you!

Hi again, I have just read the comments and I like the ideas, but if you don't want to add colours I would go with cream or soft white coloured cushions. I have the same style and I tried to add colourful cushions, but it wasn't for me. Get some cushions that are made to look like they were knitted or something. I have some that look like they could have been a cable knit sweater before. They are wintry and cozy looking. I had also suggested the lamb skin rug, because that also adds texture, but no colour. You could do a chunky throw instead in a lighter neutral. Also, don't go darker in your walls, I like them as is. I think your style is great, just needs a bit of tweaking. I am always tweaking mine.

I really love this space. I've always been a fan of the cozy cabin feel. The only thing I don't like about this space are the deer hanging on the wall. But I love the neutral colors. Maybe with the brown you could but some green in the room. Make it look more colorful and alive. I actually love the shelves above the fireplace. You can always add some beautiful colorful flowers. And also, the chairs are all the same color as the carpet. I can really see some blue (teal and some light green going into this room.

It seems that your room is heavy on the fireplace end. I would use light curtains, on your window wall,shelves would be good, if theyre low, place glass doors on them to keep out dust because of fire place. I would whitewash the ceiling panels, but leave the beams stained

Thanks! I think the dresser idea is great! Shelves would look cluttered. Should I leave the room this cream color. I wanted to paint it darker but am afraid it might look too dark in there.

I would add a lamb skin rug to the top of your couch (I have done this and it looks great and I would put some rustic dresser on either side of the fireplace with maybe a lamp on each and some minimal accessories. I would not put open shelving, because it would be to cluttered and don't do anything to tall. I think your room is great.

I really like your room. It reminds me of my style, but I am still dreaming of the rock fireplace. I don't think you should add shelves beside fireplace it might clutter it up and distract from it, but I can't say what to put the. Maybe someone else can help you with that. Maybe a tall plant or something, but no shelves. Good luck
