Help! Need your ideas for a Make-shift Mudroom, I need some ideas! My house does not have a mud room. In fact, when you enter the house, you are in the great room which is really one large room that contains the kitchen, dining, and living room areas. My kids come in, drop their coats, shoes and back-packs where they lie and I can't stand the mess. I need some ideas on a quick and easy DIY drop off area. The only space I have is the corner of the living room space. The only furniture I have to work with, is a faux leather bench with a lid that comes off and on. I am not crafty, and my husband does not have time to build anything. So would welcome some ideas on now to create a space out of nothing!, Living Rooms Design

My Boho/Mod Family Room, When we bought this 1949 California ranch house this room was BROWN! The carpet, beams, and fake paneling were all brown. The windows were covered with faux wood mini blinds and to top it off there was a faux wood cowboy style ceiling fan with gold trim. We tore out the paneling and drywalled. Ripped up the carpeting and found brown pavers which we painted white. The ceiling got a coat of white paint and the walls were painted navy. I wanted a beni ourain rug but it wasn't in the budget. I found this one at overstock it mimics the pattern and is all wool. The chevron shades were a leap but I love them. The white love seats belonged to my mom,I had them recovered. The lucite sofa came from a consignment shop. The set of fondue plates over the T.V. are vintage from an estate sale. This room is so bright and happy now I love it!, Living Rooms Design
