In a space about 10X10, I now have a living room, media room (flatscreen fits in the 11-inch deep closet behind one set of mirrored doors and there are floor-to-ceiling bookshelves behind the other set in the 'other room' with the desk) + a SECOND bedroom (by pulling gold sheer curtains closed and opening the sleeper couch). The fake master bedroom in the wall-off alcove isn't ready to show anyone just yet! Everything except the labor for shelving cost me less than $250 combined. Oops--the fantastic comfy ebay rocker cost me a bundle to ship cross-country! Tables $5 each, bamboo 'coffee table' $5, small parlor chair $75, sofabed $100, blue carpet free, but red carpet in 'other room' was $20. Louvered doors: free. White sheers: $25 for all 5 sets total, but the 3 sets of gold pleated sheers were free. Mirror was just $25. So what do I do next? Please suggest what goes/stays/upgrades--please help me here! And also, please rate my space--keeping my basic rules of engagement (cheap/free and recycled and come home in the car if possible) in mind!. My favorite find? the $9 'desk' purchased on ebay is a solid wood sewing table. Opening for machine is hidden by the $29 desk pad. It wouldn't fit in the back seat, so we force-fed it into the trunk--a few bits hung out, of course... ;)
