This is the first nursery designed and created by Nurseries By Jay and is for our first child Kellan who is due in October. We loved the idea of something less traditional using gray and lime green and using elephants as a theme. The toy box, growth chart, both wall paintings, and shelves were handmade and painted by Jay. The elephant blowing bubbles wall painting has a built in light for a night light. We love the room from his alphabet wall with his name, to his toy box.

This nursery was designed around a color scheme (pink/turquoise + black/white) instead of a specific "theme". I didn't want the bedding to be the focal point or main attraction. I wanted the walls to steal the show. This way, I wouldn't be married to a specific bedding and could change it as desired. Not to mention that bedding can be very expensive and paint with a little creativity is the direct opposite!
I was looking for a vibrant gender neutral color scheme to decorate my baby boy's room. I also wanted a room that could grow with him without loosing its playfulness. And I wanted to use a vibrant color like orange. The alphanumeric wallpaper is the focal point of the nursery. Its black and gray pattern gives a special touch to the space. It just catches your eyes when you enter there room, and I think it makes a beautiful contrast against the bright orange bedding set and hot air balloon mobile that hangs from the ceiling. The result is a gender neutral, vibrant and colorful baby room.

I wanted to a create a room that was both elegant and girly. It had to be a soothing space that she would feel comfortable in. My biggest opposition was my budget so I found the furniture on craigslist and garage sales. I am so happy with how it turned out and I hope you enjoy and get some ideas for your own.

This is our daughter Kiersten Leigh's nursery. It was designed to be bright fun and colorful but not over whelming. This room works well for a boy or girl. Designed and painted by paul and ashley Kiddy Proofed by kiddyproofers LLC
