I am a self made clothing designer and crafter since my childhood. I have moved away from my family last year and I was always busy redecorating, reusing and re-inventing my home to make it suitable for me to work.
I was busy constantly making my own designs as gifts or by orders and my crafts too.
Drastically, our life changed with the financial crisis that has been ongoing, and I had to uproot from my family and friends in New Jersey and move about 900 miles away to Illinois.
I am not wealthy by any means. I live a very thrifty lifestyle and always depended on my creative mind to keep me busy.
I have made a few items since I have been here but basically I am alone for weeks on end so I decided I would try to do something to make myself happy. My idea of happy begins with bright primary colors. I bought paints, a craft I have never tried and I have started to paint the doors to my work space which is a two car garage that we are converting just for me to have a place to be able to escape to and be alone to do what makes me happy . That is how this project began and I am showing it incompleted because I believe that we are always thinking and creating, and also know that the wall just to the right may be replaced soon. The fun about this project is that I can create during my free or relaxing time and I am realizing that I can do something I have never done before just by viisualizing it in my mind. I am not an artist but who knows.
I just think that so many could do something like this to help them relax instead of a job or craft that stresses you..
If you are not happy with something you can paint over and do it differently.
I always wanted a white picket fence and to be back at the farm I grew up in as a child so that was my inspiration and it has taken off from ther...I hope you injoy. it. Thank you for letting me share. Not only do I think that this type of wall is fun for a craft space but also a childs room or daycare. Just paint what is suitable for the room and if you can't visualize it , use magazines or pictures to try to spark your interest..
