There actally is a lot of light in the room. We have dimmer ceiling lights facing above bookshelves & a dimmer on the fan....Plenty for reading! The picture is just dark, because I took it at night & forgot to turn up the lights.lol! Lots of planning went into this room....I should probably retake the pic. ;

Thanks for the idea, BarbaraBee. For now the only one interested in organizing the books is our 4 yr old. I'm just glad to be reading them. lol!

Your husband is extremely talented. That ceiling is amazing. But Melrose is right. It's a very dark room and I'm hoping you'll be adding plenty of lighting. High hats in the ceiling on a dimmer would have been great too but it's too late for that lol. Also, I would look at other bookshelves to get ideas on how to place your books, as right now it's a little haphazard looking and sloppy, which takes away from the beautiful woodwork.

You've done some fine work here. Congrats. However...... A library implies reading, which must be hard to do in such a darkly colored room with no lamps.
