After meeting Matt Blashaw on a flight from LA to Raleigh, I had the chance to discuss with him my backyard patio idea. Matt graciously listened to me and gave some insight and finally said. "Just start digging and the details will work themselves out!" He was right.
So the lot slopes sharply and I wanted to make use of the space under the upper deck, so I excavated and laid it out. The retaining walls and columns are all versa lok and the pavers are Eagle Bay. The LED lighting are all Kerr Wall-Ter and Cornelius models.

We added a large patio to the back of house and needed furniture that didn't break the bank. Enter pallet furniture. We used 12 pallets to make a sectional. Very low cost for big seating. Foam wrapped plywood seating and pillows made at home. Super easy weekend project.
